But I have tested it with a clean raspbian too. steam controller works fine with steam link app on the pi using its wireless dongle. wired is required if you want any kind of usability (at least with my old 2.4 Ghz router). First I thought it was a problem to start steamlink within retropie. the pi 3 b+ has hdmi 1.4 not 2.0, at best 4K will max at 30 fps IF you can get it to accept the stream. What game are you playing? Does it happen with every game? If you run ping in the background from your PC, do you see any variation in ping times during the freeze? If you bring up the performance details, after the freeze, do you see a large spike in the light blue line? Never got too bothered by this limitation but now with new Raspberry Pi 4 that is up to 4k60p. I am currently on the latest update 1.1.52 I had my Raspberry Pi 3B+ running at 1080p for some confort play in the coach running really well, but still having to go back to the PC for some 4k playing while also having a 4k setup in the living room. Side note: This setup has been working great for months until version 1.1.49 which broke my controller for a week, and after it updated to 1.1.50 it fixed the controller but started lagging.
